Your Neighborhood Bar and Grille Turned Up with 55 Local Beer Varieties and Tex-Mex Specialties

By Marina Jokic

Coming to Doc's is definitely an experience. The rustic, industrial décor, twinkling lights, the colorful and variegated ambiance make for an energetic and unique visit. Their crafted signature cocktails are deliciously unique and simple, complementing the rich variety of bar-inspired appetizers on the menu. As is custom in Texas, Happy Hour is every Monday to Friday from 3 to 8pm, and also features video games and shuffleboard in case you are seeking additional entertainment.

"We've got a full bar serving up one of the largest selections of Texas beers, 55 beers to be exact, including some of Houston's favorite brewing companies," says Jordan Coronado, Marketing Director at Doc's. Breweries like Karbach, Town & City Brewing, and 8th Wonder are just some of the regular suppliers at Doc's with the list growing. Having so many local beers is one of Doc's major appeals to locals, but especially to tourists coming to Houston for the first time.

Savoring Tex-Mex food and local beer while relaxing on the patio is an excellent way to experience the city's vibe. For those of you sport aficionados, the nineteen big screen TV's will let you follow the game without missing a beat. There are plenty of patio seats to catch some sunrays and fresh air. And bring your dog because the patio is pet friendly!

Popular signature appetizers include the Cheese Fries, smothered in queso, mixed cheeses, green onions, bacon and sour cream, the Fried Pickles, the Blackened Shrimp Quesadilla, Shrimp Ceviche, the Southwest Congress Eggrolls, and their new Brisket Nachos. The Blackened Jalapeno Cheddar Burger and the Chipotle Jack Burger are some of the signature highlights among the entrees. The Sunset Valley Salad consists of grilled chicken with sliced oranges, crispy apples, fresh avocado, red onions, and cilantro over house greens with sesame dressing- a crowd favorite.

The taps are always evolving with the newest and hottest beers, especially the 'Unfaithful 5', five beers that change monthly depending on the most up-and-coming craft beers in town.

It wouldn't be a proper dinner or Happy Hour without a decadent dessert to follow the tangy, spicy, savory food. Doc's makes a rich, chocolaty brownie that is not too overpowering, yet is bursting with flavor and will help extinguish the spiciness on your palette after dinner. Doc's has been around for years, serving the community and popularizing Tex-Mex and Texas beers to all those who visit their locations. If you happen to be passing by, be sure to make a stop at Doc's.
