Wholesome Grub Puts a Healthy Twist on the Fast Food Industry

By Elisha Neubauer

In a world dominated by fast food chains, a place like Wholesome Grub is a welcome breath of fresh air. Looking to turn the fast food industry on its end, the exceptional eatery was founded in the summer of 2014 with one goal: to provide a service culture focused on food nutrition density, affordability, and tasty creations.

Family owned and operated, Wholesome Grub was based on the principles of generational sustainability. "We are a full service production kitchen specializing in our customers individual dietary needs that demand transparency of product, convenience, and most importantly wellness education," states Oscar Miranda, Business Development Coordinator. "We serve our community six days a week and reserve Sundays for family and spiritual wellness."

Miranda explains what Wholesome Grubs is looking to provide to their loyal customer base. "We hope to provide long term value to all our guests, by providing sustainable food ingredients that are gluten-free, Non-GMO, Organic, wild caught seafood, grass-fed grass-finished red meats/proteins, as well as plant based meal options," he tells us.

The driving force behind the creation of Wholesome Grub was a single belief; a belief that a long term impact on guest's nutrition and wellness goals could be accomplished through a convenient fast food style restaurant. "Our efforts are slowing changing the way consumers are looking at investing in their dietary need and realizing that convenience is a major factor to reaching realistic goals," details Miranda.

According to him, they focused on two major factors while creating their menu: Nutrition density, which is choosing food ingredients that are dense in phytonutrients, antioxidants and of course quality macro/micro nutrition; and is choosing ingredients that are sustainably sourced and produced, socially responsible, organic and free of GMO modifications. "The purpose of our stealth health approach is to ensure proper GUT, HEART, and ORGAN wellness, everything else should ideally follow," Miranda says.

Wholesome Grub has recently started offering Meal Prep Programs to help further their agenda. "We start by applying a personal assessment on each individuals nutrition needs," explains Miranda. "Second, after we have created their personal nutrition panel, we start to created each individuals meals." Each meal apparently ranges from 16oz of food to 28oz, depending on the individual's Micro and Macro nutrition needs.

Up to a full week can be ordered at one time, if needed, making it as equally easy as a weekly grocery shop. "For folks needing more personalized support, we also have licensed Dietitians to help asses them more accurately," affirms Miranda. "However, all meals are built to each customers specialized needs."
