By Marc Rodriguez

Tell us a little bit about your company and the services you offer.

Here at Bexar Air, we understand the diverse needs and complexities that face our clients for their homes and businesses. It is our pleasure to tailor fit a solution to the clients needs and/or desired comfort levels. Essentially, if the client would like to control humidity or a level of moisture for live indoor plants, we can design the perfect environment for their every desire.

Bexar Air has been making AC and heater repairs on commercial and residential HVAC systems since the 1980's and here in South Texas, we understand homes and business require Service, Maintenance as well as Installation for Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. A great team engineers all our sheet metal and fiber board air ducting design and installation with over 4 decades worth of knowledge, it's easy to see why they stay busy all year long. We now roll or blow in attic insulation to provide our clients with more consistent climate control in their homes or businesses.

What signs do homeowners have to look out for to know that their HVAC system needs to be repaired?

If you notice that some rooms in the home don't seem to be as comfortable as they used to be or system seems to run longer and is not effective enough, it may be time to have our professional service engineer take a look at the system.

When would you suggest to consider replacing an HVAC system instead of just repairing it?

US. Dept. of Energy spends lots of money to have an answer for the question "when is it time to replace the ac and heat system in my home?" Energy Star has standardized the industry by stating the best life out of any home appliance is 10 yrs. This include the AC and Heat system. South Texas temperatures can be stressful on systems creating more excessive run hours and exceeding the normal ranges the manufacture's engineers have set. So about the length of time a manufactures warranty expires is a rule that can be gauged by.

What is a reasonable time frame you would usually recommend replacing heating and/or cooling equipment?

If the AC and Heater system requires repair and the costs for (*properly) repairing system is about 3/8 to 1/2 the cost of installing a new system, we would always advise the customer to consider replacement as well in their solution.

What are the benefits of getting a new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, or HVAC, system for the home?

In most cases, you can see the savings on utilities with in just the first few months when you decide to have a more efficient AC and Heating system installed. newer units are designed with safety, efficiency, and noise concerns as well as web communicating compatibility in mind. All in all, when you have the properly designed work completed you can immediately sense the difference and you will be confident you made the right decision.

What advice do you give your clients who want to take care of their HVAC systems at home?

In a society where the internet has helped many, we simply advise our customers to always consider a professional to maintenance any electrical HVAC equipment in their home or business. The novice in our industry can make a mistake and so with the HVAC systems becoming more complex and more computerized parts, it is still best to contact a professional to have systems cared for.
