By Paul Rowe

Life can be challenging to manage with daily demands for the average human being. Being an exceptional friend, partner, coworker, or parent can be rewarding, but what ever happened to treating yourself every once in a while? If you live in the great city of Austin, Texas, living a life you love is not only possible, but at your fingertips, courtesy of Pilates South Austin.

The sincere desire to help people improve their self-care is the driving force behind Pilates South Austin. Here, under the guidance of friendly, experienced instructors, people of every age, size, and fitness level come together to strengthen their bodies from the inside out. At Pilates South Austin, ordinary people are empowered to forge new lifestyles that are conducive to healthy thinking and living.

"Anyone can do Pilates," co-owners Beth Dukleth and Kari Levassar said. "Sometimes people are surprised at how energized and calm they feel after a workout. They are surprised by how fast the time flies."

Beth Dukleth & Kari Levassar

This feeling of surprise stems from just how deeply rewarding a Pilates experience can be. At Pilates South Austin, each and every Pilates session is tailored to the specific needs of the individual. Pilates stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, increasing focus and concentration while invigorating the body. This stimulation of body and mind helps people feel empowered in their own bodies, building self-confidence one session at a time.

Pilates South Austin's mission is for everyone in their community to feel at home and empowered in their body. Offering Private Pilates, GYROTONIC®, and Redcord sessions, as well as Group Reformer and Group Classes (Including Da Vinci BodyBoard, Burn at the Barre, Pilates Mat, Stretch Roll and Release, and Buti Yoga). Prices are affordable allowing the studio to empower the lives of people of all ages and levels of experience. Everyone seeking the benefits of Pilates brings a different experience to the table, and this is even true of co-owners Dukleth and Levassar.

A native of Houston, Texas, Dukleth holds a degree in Dance Performance from Oklahoma City University. Initially, she became interested in Pilates to enhance her dancing. After experiencing amazing changes to her body and strength, Dukleth became inspired to pursue her professional Pilates certification.

"Initially I started doing Pilates to support my dance career as a Radio City Rockette," Dukleth said. "Not only did Pilates completely change my body and my dancing, it was also rewarding to teach others the Method and to see how it made such a wonderful difference in their lives, not just physically, but mentally."

One client even told Dukleth that because of her new strength, posture, and confidence, she knew her students would respond to her differently, respecting and listening to her when school started in the fall. Pilates South Austin deeply improved her life on both the personal and professional level.

Her story is just one of many. Every instructor at Pilates South Austin gets to know the personal needs and goals of their students helping them achieve things they never thought possible in a fun, safe, challenging, and positive environment.
