Muir Fine Art Gallery Has Something For Everyone

By Jake Levin

Houston, we have no art problem.

Emerging artists have helped make the Muir Fine Art Gallery a must-see for art lovers near and far in the Houston, Texas area. The gallery's director, CJ Alvarez, said that from the first-time art buyer to the avid collectors, there's something for everyone on display.

"The space is vibrant and welcoming," CJ said. "Visitors both domestic and international drop by every day due to the variety of amazing artworks on display and available for purchase. We are proud to represent world-renowned and emerging contemporary and classic painters."

A balance of seasoned & emerging artists help the Muir Fine Art Gallery stay up to date with the latest trends. John Muir Lockhart, the gallery's owner, said that the gallery is proud to represent both the emerging, cutting edge artists who have an eye on the future, along with the retro artists whose throwback works have earned their place in today's market.

"Collectively, the artists we represent are creating a new and exciting dialogue through colorful, contemporary and provocative images and defining an exciting era for a new generation of fine art buyers," he said.

The gallery, located at 818 Town & Country Blvd. Ste. 106 in Houston's CityCentre, has aimed to help make Houston the "Arts Destination of the South".

John believes that Houston's talented artists, galleries and museums even rival those in New York City, Los Angeles and Miami. No exhibit gives more credence to such claims than the Mural Project @ CityCentre & Muir Outdoor Art Gallery, which was initiated by Muir Fine Art Gallery, CJL Media Arts Group and CityCentre Houston.

The exciting urban murals have quickly gained popularity around town, bringing additional visitors to the CityCentre Houston.

"By creating a cultural trail of beautiful murals, we extended urban art beyond Houston's inner-loop," CJ said. "Many of these talented artists have been recognized and received commissions in other parts of Houston as a result of this successful project."

Muir Fine Art Gallery is open five days a week; Monday-Friday, 10am -6 pm ; Saturday and Sundays by appointment only.
