Moonlight Cupcakes And Cream Delivers Rich Flavors In Richland Hills, Texas

By Paul Rowe

Founded in 2008, Moonlight Cakes began as one woman's love for baking. Throughout her entire adult life, Susan Holcomb excelled at creating rich, tantalizing treats. Over the last decade, through unmatched tenacity, commitment to customers, and an intense passion for baking, Moonlight Cakes has evolved into a thriving business.

In 2015, Holcomb retired from a lifelong profession in the medical field to commit to her baking on a fulltime basis. Now that her daughter Whitney Crawford has joined the team at Moonlight, an incredibly successful mother-daughter baking unit has formed, much to the delight of the area surrounding Richland Hills. Crawford left a career in teaching to join her mother in creating the most delicious and moist cupcakes around.

"We are a family owned business that has built its reputation by word of mouth based on our cupcake flavors, moistness, and customer service," Holcomb said. "We believe every customer should have the same wonderful experience at our store, whether it is their first time in or their hundredth time in: We treat all of our staff and customers like they are part of our family."

Their passion for meeting the needs of the sweet teeth of their dedicated customers is unsurpassed in comparison to similar businesses in the area. Their favorite part of the job is turning the ideal cravings of their customers into reality.

Offering 17 cupcake flavors ensures that every customer who walks through Moonlight Cakes doors finds something to meet their needs. For first time customers, Holcomb and Crawford always recommend the award winning "Strawberry Fields," a classic cake made with fresh strawberries and strawberry buttercream, and the renowned "Snow White," featuring white cake with a hint of almond and crowned in rich French vanilla buttercream.

At Moonlight Cakes chocolate lovers rejoice to behold the "Triple Threat," a mouthwatering, homemade chocolate fudge cake with chocolate chips injected with caramel in the center, topped off with dark fudge buttercream and a caramel drizzle.

Reese's fans also delight in the "Peanut Butter and Fudge," a decadent chocolate fudge cake with bits of Reese's peanut butter cups inside topped with a peanut butter buttercream and finished with a miniature Reese's peanut butter cup for good measure.

"We bake our cupcakes fresh every day. Two of our flavors are flavors of the month and change from month to month," Crawford said. "We also offer a popular flavor for adults only called our 'boozy cupcake,' an alcohol infused cupcake."

Kids and adults alike cherish Moonlight Cakes and Cream for what it is: a coveted destination for decadent desserts in Richland Hills.
