Love The Skin You're In With Texas Body Art

By Elisha Neubauer

Tattooing is a practice that has graced human culture for over 5,000 years. Despite its ups and downs in popularity, the practice has continued to grow over time becoming more socially acceptable and culturally dependent. Due to the increase in popularity over the years, tattoo shops have begun to appear across the nation in droves.

With so many options to choose from, how do you decide on the right shop for you? For residents of Houston, Texas, the answer is simple.

Texas Body Art got its start back in 1998 when tattoo icon Johnny Jackson launched the company's first location on Hwy 6. With a smorgasbord of talented artists and an ever-growing popularity, Jackson found himself opening a secondary location in 2004 to keep up with the clients' requests.

Today, Texas Body Art can be found on both Hwy 6 and Jones Road, making it easier for clients to find the right artist at a place that is convenient to their schedule and lifestyle.

When it comes to the tattoo industry, Jackson has been around the block a few times. With over 30 years experience, Jackson has a firm grip on giving his clients exactly what they're looking for.

"I take a lot of pride in my name, my tattooing, and my studios," Jackson said. "We strive to give our customers top of the line service and experience. Our customers' satisfaction is the greatest recognition we can receive."

Jackson has a lot to be proud of when it comes to his shops, too. They've been praised as being one of the cleanest, most laid back shops in town. As of 2017, they took home their 10th consecutive "Best Tattoo and Piercing Studio in Houston" Award.

"We offer a safe, clean, professional environment so you can enjoy your tattoo experience," Jackson said.

Understanding how to please clients is one of the top requirements for a tattoo shop, which is considered part of the service industry. Sending clients home happy is vital for such a shop to stand above the crowd. Jackson has made sure to employ only the finest artists in the area who display a clear comprehension of how to do just that.

"A good artist will do what works best for a tattoo so it looks great years to come not just when you walk out the door," he said.

In addition to offering incredible body art, the shop also offers the BioLab Piercing Studio. Located right next door to the Northwest Houston location of Texas Body Art, BioLab Piercing Studio has been awarded the Best Piercing Studio in Houston recognition for seven years in a row. BioLab Piercing Studio is a clean, safe, professional environment with knowledgeable staff and high quality equipment.

"When you receive a new piercing make sure you follow your piercer's aftercare instructions and don't play with your piercings," Jackson said. "It can be tempting to play with a fresh piercing but it prolongs the healing process and could give you problems."
