Kaffeine Coffee Brings You out of the Office and Into Their Inviting Tech Hub

By Elisha Neubauer

Kaffeine Coffee isn't your ordinary coffee shop.

Offering more than just a Cup o' Joe, Kaffeine Coffee considers itself an 'office café -- a place where workers and students can relax, grab a snack or a pick me up beverage, and get on with their work.

While coffee shops have long been thought of as a place harboring writers, telecommuters, and students, Kaffeine Coffee has taken it to a new level, understanding this dynamic and preparing for it.

The unique eatery has taken it a step further than just offering free WIFI, taking it upon themselves to offer such office staples as faxing, small printing jobs, scanning, emailing, staplers, highlighters, post it pads, and paperclips. To really drive the office theme home, they've even provided a water cooler. "It delights us when a few customers gather at the cooler and strike a conversation," states Orgena Keener, owner. "It makes us feel like we have captured a part of normal office behavior."

The variety of customers taking advantage of the workspace is impressive. Everyone from young to old, student and teacher to office worker and writer, can be found making use of the amenities provided by Kaffeine Coffee. "Students that study off campus and customers that work from home typically finding themselves staying for hours," states Keener. "Some customers are catching up on a novel, or just catching up on some 'me-time.'" Whatever your project, the soft music and light social atmosphere are congruent to a productive time.

Unlike your own office or study hall, Kaffeine Coffee serves up excellent food, beverages, and snacks. You can find everything from light bites, homemade desserts, and signature beverages. Espresso based drinks seem to be a popular favorite of the office dwellers, with several unique names such as the Wakeup Call, the Morning Fix, the Snooze Button, the Latte 4 Work (or the late for work), and the Cup of Commotion.

Blended and Iced drinks; flavored teas, lemonade, and smoothies; regular and signature espresso drinks; and house drips are available for those looking to wet their whistle. For those looking to grab something to eat, the café also offers breakfast foods, baked goods and Danishes, and a complete lunch menu. "We serve artisan gourmet sandwiches for lunch and breakfast tacos, and breakfast croissants for AM selections," Keener explains.

When it comes to the concept of their operation, Kaffeine Coffee strives to be the neighborhood go-to. This means that the café is ever changing, adapting to the needs and requirements of their clientele and the surrounding community. This shows in their endless stream of events. Some of their events include such things as Latte Nights, an evening filled with a live DJ and a hookah service; book signings; small gatherings, poetry sessions, and live entertainment.

"We want to serve the community with their needs and progress to being a great neighbor," declares Keener. "Being a neighborhood coffee shop, we are eager to take on the identity of our residents."
