Introducing Times Square Entertainment, Katy's Number One Entertainment Hub

By Kelly Church

Small town just outside of Houston, Katy, TX isn't known for being a hub of entertainment. However, when Times Square Entertainment moved in more than ten years ago, the community was given a large center of games, activities and a place to host community events and parties.

"Times Square Entertainment is a family fun center for the Katy area," Event Coordinator Felicia Norman says. "We have 36 bowling lanes, billiards, an interactive arcade and a 2,500-foot laser tag arena. We also have a full catering menu, meeting space and can accommodate an event for 10 to 1,000 guests."

At Times Square Entertainment, guests can join bowling leagues to interact with their peers. During the summer, kids can join the Summer Bowling Program and bowl two free games every day, all summer long. The purpose is to bring families together to play games that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

"We wanted Times Square Entertainment to be a family-oriented center and a place for the Katy community to come together and have fun," Norman says. "In 2005, when we opened, there was not a lot of options for entertainment in the area and we were seeking to fill that void. We also wanted to support the local schools, churches and special needs groups as much as possible and make a lasting impact on the area."

The entertainment and community center sponsors six local high school bowling teams, makes frequent donations to silent auctions and fundraisers, hosts the Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon, hosts high school proms and graduation night events, and offers special pricing for events for special needs groups in the area. Norman says since Times Square Entertainment was founded in 2005, the Katy community has grown and so have these community contributions.

In honor of being part of the community for a decade, the facility received a face-lift in 2015, upgrading every element of the center. Norman says the upgrades are still going on. This summer, the laser tag arena received new obstacles, ramps and decorations. In eleven years, Times Square Entertainment has hosted more than 20,000 birthday parties, meaning these new upgrades are likely to get plenty of use.
