Introducing Houston's Firehouse Saloon, A True Music Venue Steeped in Tradition

By Elisha Neubauer

You expect great country music when you're out for the evening in Houston, right? But at Firehouse Saloon, you get more than just good tunes. Featuring the best back-story and ambiance in the area, Firehouse Saloon has managed to become one of the biggest go-to places for locals and visitors alike.

Firehouse Saloon started to make a name for itself from the moment it opened its doors almost twenty years ago. As the name implies, the Saloon has been owned and operated by firemen from the get-go. When the concept of Firehouse Saloon was first created, the focus was solely on the music. And has continued as such, in the best way possible. While they rely heavily on the local flavor of music, Firehouse Saloon has blossomed, and currently features music of every genre and category.

"We are unique, country chic and steeped in tradition," states Kim Imber, Administrator and wife to Tom Imber, sole owner of Firehouse Saloon. "There is no other venue with the look and feel Firehouse Saloon has. We are more of a concert/rental hall venue and we only choose artists who have a good draw in the area."

The Saloon does host events outside of the live music category as well. "We host all types of events from corporate parties to high school reunions and everything in between," Imber explains. Offering a loft rental or a full facility rental, Firehouse Saloon offers a spacious dance floor, full country bar, and a stage for live music. Their superior sound system makes them the perfect choice for any event- whether it be a birthday party, wedding, or corporate event. In fact, one of the weddings hosted at the Saloon was so unique it was featured in Houston Bridal Magazine!

We asked Imber to let us in on what sets them apart from other music venues in the area. As she lists off some of the guest musicians that have graced their stage, we can't help but drop our jaws. "We don't just host country music, we host all kinds," she explains. Her list includes Billy Bob Thornton, DJ Hank T. Moon, David Nail, and Jason Castro from American Idol- just to name a few. "We are a true music venue," Imber proudly states.
