Customer Comes First with Djmotivate

By Jake Levin

After the ceremony and food, what's the next most important thing that a guest will remember at a wedding?

According to Kyle Clark, who goes by Djmotivate, it's the music. And his goal has always been to provide a memorable atmosphere at events he DJs throughout the Austin, Texas area.

"I also think it's important to really listen to my clients and get a sense from them what kind of atmosphere they want," Clark said.

What separates Djmotivate from his competitors is not only his drive to put the customer first, but the fact that he is a one man show. Clark said that he works very hard to create the experience his customers want by figuring out what kind of memories they want to create through music, rather than doing what he himself thinks is best. No two set lists are ever the same at a Djmotivate show.

Clark competes with plenty of other DJs who run a solo operation, but his involvement runs deeper, he believes.

"Because you get me from start to finish, from consultation to completion that separates me from working with companies that send a DJ with a song list but no other background or information to create that memorable experience that I focus on," he said.

Clark goes by 'Djmotivate' when he's at an event, where his motto is "motivated to move the crowd." His music library runs some 20,000 songs deep.

"That is both my challenge and my goal at every event," he said of his motto.

Clark has been in entertainment for 16 years at events far beyond weddings. He will also provide the life of the party at birthdays, corporate events, fashion shows, etc., for all ages and demographics.

In addition, Clark is a non-denominational officiant, with the ability to perform wedding ceremonies, civil unions and other special rite-of-passage ceremonies.
