Bon Appetit at Main Street Bakery and Bistro

By Allison Wilson

Main Street Bakery and Bistro offers a little bit of Paris right here in Texas. Since opening in the historic district of Grapevine in 2000, the bakery has expanded with franchises in Plano and Richardson. Today, it continues to cultivate a welcoming, casual French Bistro atmosphere, and has become a favorite neighborhood gathering place to grab either a decadent meal or a quick cup of coffee with friends.

"What people love about Main Street is the French Atmosphere we offer here, and, of course, the food," says Main Street Bakery and Bistro owner Fabien Goury. "We have a wide range of morning pastries, desserts and cakes, but also a nice French-American menu that can fit everyone's needs. We offer casual, comfort food. We've been here for so many years, and we have staff here that have worked with us since the first days!"

Among the more popular items on the menu at Main Street Bakery and Bistro is the Eggs Benedict. As Goury says, it is one of the simplest, yet hardest dishes to perfect.

"You have to get the yolk just to the right texture, the sauce with the right taste and color, and the muffin to be crispy, but not dry," he says. "It is a combination of little things and details that make our eggs Benedict great, and that's what we add to every plate that comes out of the kitchen: a combination of cooking knowledge, experience, love and passion! We choose our ingredients with care, and we make everything fresh from scratch every day."

Main Street Bakery and Bistro also has a catering department that serves all of the Dallas and Fort-Worth area for special events, both corporate and private, including business meetings, baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays, book signings, weddings, and more. In fact, the master pastry chef was educated in France and has designed more than 1,000 wedding and specialty cakes. The restaurant can also host a party of up to 60 people in its semi-private room, and will soon have a private room for events as well.

"We offer the most personalized services, so every guest has a unique experience," Goury says. "We know every regular by name, and we care about every customer that walks through that door. We are a family business, and customers can feel it. There is a home feeling here, and people love it. You know, it is hard to arrive to the top, and it is harder to stay at the top, but we have a constant attention to detail, and try to keep the quality at the highest."
