Bikram Yoga North Texas Is Teaching That There's More to Life than a Paycheck

Stacey Stier, owner of Bikram Yoga North Texas, wanted something more out of life. Working in the corporate world, day in and day out, she felt stuck. Stier wanted more for herself, more than just a paycheck. She wanted to feel fulfilled at the end of the day.

It was then that Stier stumbled upon Bikram Yoga. Within a week of attending classes, Stier had found what she was looking for. Bikram Yoga opened an entirely new world for her, showing her that there was more to life than merely working for a buck.

"I wanted to do something I was passionate about and made a difference in the world," Stier said. "With Bikram Yoga, I found my purpose: offering a space for healing and hope."

In 2002, Stier opened her first location in Grapevine.

In Stier's opinion, yoga is the perfect path to wellness. More than just pretty poses and flexibility, yoga strengthens your body and mind. Regular participants experience more energy, focus, balance, and joy in their daily lives. Yoga also reduces weight and stress, increases flexibility and coordination, tones and lengthens muscles, and helps to relieve pain. Bikram Yoga is a form of Hatha yoga which is practiced in a heated room and is taught only by certified Bikram instructors. The average class lasts for 90 minutes and includes approximately 26 poses.

At Bikram Yoga North Texas, everyone is welcome, regardless of experience or fitness level. According to Stier, the studio has students of every age and fitness level, with new students in nearly every class. Her highly qualified instructors are able to work with everyone individually during class, helping each student meet their fitness goals.

"We understand that each student is unique and emphasize listening to your body and doing the best you can with the body you have today," Stier said. "Each day you'll notice your self-awareness improve along with your strength, flexibility, and patience."

For those hesitant to try Bikram Yoga because it's something out of their comfort zone, Stier has some words of wisdom.

When starting out, it is important for you to be in shape or highly flexible. At Bikram Yoga North Texas, they don't focus on the look of your practice, but instead the feel of your practice. And, as Stier will tell you, yoga will help you meet all your fitness goals.

"We love hearing how a consistent practice changed our student's health, relationships, career, or life for the better," she said.
